Over the course of their long history, Olympia Brewing had strayed from its Northwestern roots and was slowly becoming a symbol of a bygone era. We helped them find their way back home, using their original founder's spirit of craftsmanship and exploration as a guide.

From revival to innovation

The Olympia brand has been largely untouched since the Prohibition era. Now, with several new diverse and unexpected products in the works, we took the reins to create a brand platform built on their hardworking DNA. This new brand work will ensure consistency for them as they explore uncharted product territories.

Identity

The Olympia logo and horseshoe are gems of authentic, old-school design. We cleaned them up and made them the backbone of the identity. And since Olympia was essentially a one-product company, we built out elaborate product and brand hierarchy standards to keep Oly strong regardless of how many new products they add.

Social strategy

You can’t have a strong brand these days if you’re not out mixing it up with your peeps. We created a range of social campaign concepts, individual channel strategies, and editorial calendars to help Olympia become a real part of their consumers' online lives. 

Retail experience

Rethinking how Olympia behaves in the social world led us to reimagine what the perfect Pacific Northwest distillery and taproom would be like in the real world. We created the standards for customer experience, interior finishes, and product collaborations to guide Olympia as they think about brick and mortar spaces in the future.

Working together

A century-old brand requires deep immersion to understand its nuances. Lucky for us, the Olympia Brewery has a museum and archive. We spent countless hours digging around in there and found all kinds of subtle but important details that helped us build authenticity into the heart of this brand.
